Any crack cocaine addict will tell you that if given enough time, crack cocaine will destroy you, and the devastation will begin with the silent destruction of your body. The information contained in this article is vital information that was obtained through my own personal experience. If you or someone you know is addicted to crack, I would advise you to take this article seriously. It could very well change, or even save your life.
How Crack Rebuilds Your Body
As soon as you take that first hit of crack it starts rebuilding your fleshly house to accommodate its needs. Crack cocaine alters your natural appetites—those things that control food intake, the way you process acceptance, how you view success, and your sex drive.
The brain produces a chemical substance known as dopamine, an essential neurotransmitter that is transferred from one nerve cell to another. Dopamine helps control body movement and it is associated with our emotional behaviors. The chemical dopamine is what makes us feel good. It takes long periods of time to build up our reserves of dopamine which is released into the blood in small amounts as needed to induce the sensation of pleasure.
Crack cocaine causes all of the dopamine that the brain has stored up to be released at once, giving you the sensation of extreme pleasure. This sensation of extreme pleasure is what every crack user is trying to reproduce. It is also what causes addiction to the drug by compelling the user to smoke even more crack, trying to maintain that same level of pleasure that can never again be reached.
At this stage of your addiction you can no longer hide it. With the desire for food and water gone, you begin to lose weight and dehydrate at a phenomenal rate. Your body begins to draw water from your blood, destroying precious blood cells in the process. Dead blood cells are deposited in your urine and give it a dark color, somewhat brownish or reddish-orange in appearance which produces a horrible pungent odor. It also causes you body to have that same urine-like pungent odor.
Your muscle tissue starts to decline because of a lack of nutrients. Your skin cells cannot replenish themselves fast enough and start to crack, peel, and wrinkle, causing you to appear several years older over a short period of time. Much like that of an abandoned house, your body deteriorates to a mere skin and bones frame.
Crack Turns Your Body Against Itself
After planting its seeds of destruction on your body’s outer shell, crack turns all of its destructive energy to your inner body. The internal organs that are vital to keeping your body alive become the next victims of its death grip.
Cardiac arrest is the primary source of death in crack users and the heart is generally one of the first of the body’s internal organs to be affected by the use of crack. If, by now, your heart has not already been affected it is only because of its extraordinarily healthy condition.
However, if you are fortunate enough to have escaped heart failure, do not think for one minute that you are not in danger of losing your life, especially if your method of consuming crack is by smoking. When the very last crumb of crack has been consumed from your crack pipe, crack continues to kill. In a desperate attempt to get more crack, many crack users continue to apply heat to the tube, causing the flame to travel up the crack pipe, making the air that is sucked into the lungs so hot, until the lips, tongue, esophagus and lungs are burned. In addition to this, the chemicals in crack cocaine crystallize on the lining of the lungs, just as it does inside the crack pipe, causing irreversible damage to the lungs. The adverse affect of using crack works against your body in every conceivable way. With your lungs being affected, and your heart being weakened, your whole body is thrown out of balance.
Crack Offsets Your Morals
Crack is responsible for the way in which the users of its wares view moral qualities, such as success and prosperity. All sense of morals deteriorates with the continued use of the drug. Like the smoke from a crack pipe, all thoughts of a successful life go up in smoke. Prosperity takes on an entirely different meaning. To a person who is addicted to crack, their view of prosperity is summarized in how many crack cocaine rocks they have in their possession.
Like many drugs, crack cocaine opens the door to demonic activity. The architect of a crack built house is a demon spirit. When I was set free from the bondage of crack, the fight to maintain my freedom became passionate and personal. So I assigned a personal name to the demonic spirit responsible for my addiction. I named him YANLIC. The first letters in the phrase “You Are No Longer In Control” spells his name.
If you were to view your body as a house and then visualize YANLIC as the architect of that house, you would easily see the run down and dilapidated state of your dilemma.
Because of a lack of proper sleeping habits, poor personal hygiene, and a serious loss of body weight, crack will cause your body to age extremely fast. Your emotions are suddenly thrown out of sync and you start to see through distorted eyes. Thus an emotion like love has no meaning anymore because you have been influenced by crack to believe that no one loves you.
But the most incredible thing about addiction to crack cocaine is how it coerces you to have an attitude of nonchalance that welcomes the sudden changes that you experience in your body. Acceptance is just another phase of the constantly changing metamorphosis that transforms the state of a no less than perfect creation of God into nothing more than a living corpse.
How Can God Help?
It is not as complicated as it may seem to obtain your freedom from drug addiction. In fact, the way of escape is so simple that most people find it hard to accept and believe. Many people who have an addiction choose alternate methods of cure that only appear to be right in their understanding which in the end, do not produce lasting results.
The way to escape any kind of bondage is to know the love that God has for you. That’s right, you must know –not guess, wonder, or hope — but know the love that God has for you. You can’t know the love of God without knowing God. The scriptures testify of this, as it is written:
“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:8-10, 16).
The love that God has for you is amazing. When you develop a personal relationship with God He will expose His love to your understanding. The parable of the Hidden Treasure is a perfect example of the love that God has for the drug addict.
“…The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field” (Matthew 13:44). The drug addict is the treasure that is hidden. The field is the world in which drug addicts are hidden. The man is Christ who is seeking the treasure. And when He (Christ) has found this treasure, He joyfully gives His all (His life) to buy the field to get the treasure and everything else in the field. This scripture could therefore be interpreted to read: “…The kingdom of heaven is like a drug addict lost in the world; which when Christ had found, He hid [set apart] for Himself, and for joy thereof He joyfully gave all that He had [His life], and bought the world.”
